Based in the mountains of Vermont, Matt McLamb is a “studio rat,” working countless hours in his home studio. He’s a self-taught artist who’s been behind the torch since 2001.

Matt’s an innovator, constantly bringing new ideas to the table and experimenting with new techniques. He developed the technique of image transfer to glass in 2008, taking it from the soft glass industry and introducing it to the borosilicate world. His perfection of the technique has garnered lots of oohs and ahs and his pieces are highly coveted.

Matt is also known for his kinetic glasswork, combining his two favorite interests — science and function. He’s known for making the first spinning pipe and many other kinetic creations. He placed second in the Pipe Classic VI with his 4-foot flying bird waterpipe. Like most American glass artists, his community has inspired him: “They push their personal limits and I try to push mine"
